Yamaha recently launched the 2021 Yamaha MT-25 in the Indonesian market a week ago. The bike was released in the same engine displacement as the FZ 25 but in a different engine platform. The new MT-25 has been designed much sharper and equipped with better technology compared to its sibling.

Well, here we will discuss some points that differentiate the new Yamaha machine from the BS6 FZ-25.

Dynamic Looks

The new Yamaha MT-25 looks more identical to the MT-03. The transformer-type aggressive stance on the front followed by a projector headlight and LED DRLs accompanied by new sporty paint schemes make the bike rock solid.

Although residing under the same cc platform, the MT-25 looks a lot aggressive compared to the FZ 25.

Perfect Handling

Although both of the motorcycles feature split seats, the handlebar and footpegs position on the MT-25 makes it more aggressive while riding. The handling of the bike also beats the performance of the FZ 25.

Engine Performance

Without any doubt, the MT-25 is more powerful than the FZ 25. The MT-25 is powered by a 250cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that churns a power of 35.5bhp alongside a peak torque of 23.6Nm. Likewise, the FZ25 (BS6) adopts a 249cc air-cooled fi single-cylinder engine that delivers a power of 20.8bhp alongside a peak torque of 20.1Nm.

Being a parallel-twin engine motorcycle, the MT-25 provides a much smoother performance. Seemingly, this one is also mated with a 6-speed gearbox transmission compared to the other which only has 5.

Top-notch hardware

Although both the MT 25 and the FZ-25 are built under the same diamond-type frame, the FZ-25 lacks some premium hardware. In essence, the MT-25 adopts much premium USD forks and a preload-adjustable monoshock compared to the FZ25. Moreover, the larger disc brakes and radial tyres on the MT-25 enhances perfect handling capabilities.

Face Value

This is the point where the MT-25 fails to FZ-25. The new MT-25 costs almost twice than the FZ25. The MT-25 was launched in Indonesia at RP 55,460,000 (INR 2.89 lakhs). However, the performance, design, and feel of the bikes make the price tag worth it.
