2022 Yamaha R7 Features, Specs, Images revealed

After thrilling the hearts of Yamaha fans by releasing the teaser of the upcoming YZF-R7, the Japanese bikemaker Yamaha has finally revealed the official specs, images, and details of the upcoming Yamaha R7. Only after this, Yamaha fans have finally been able to get a sound sleep as the bikemaker hadn’t left any easter eggs on the lately launched teaser video.

Let’s see what the new Yamaha R7 is offered with.

Yamaha R7 Overview

First on, the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R7 is going to be powered by a 689cc, liquid-cooled inline twin engine inherited from the MT-07. This highly refined engine capable of churning out a horsepower of 73.4bhp at 8750rpm alongside a peak torque of 67Nm at 6500rpm. Its engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox transmission with slipper and assist clutch.

As for the bikemaker, it explains that the new R7 uses an enhanced secondary gear ratio that provides a smooth gearing function and gives a sporty feel while riding the fully-faired beast.

Moreover, as of suspension setup, this one gets a 41mm KYB USD fork up front alongside a line-type mono-shock suspension unit at the rear.

The braking on the YZF-R7 will be handled by twin 298mm disc brakes on both the end while it comes infused with a Brembo master cylinder.

As for the design, the sporty beast’s design is inspired by the YZR-M1 MotoGP machine while the newly designed LED projector headlamp and DRLs emit an aggressive look to the bike. The windscreen up front is also taller compared to its other siblings.

Other notable features on the Yamaha YZF-R7 include clip-on handlebars, fairing-mounted mirrors, LED taillamps, a sculpted fuel tank, a new LCD display, and a revised exhaust system.
