Introduction

An automobile giant, BMW Motorrad, has recently unveiled the updated model of its sports tourer bike – BMW R 1250 RS for 2023. The bike gets a slight visual change and add-ons to its sport touring potential. Likewise, it is said to compete against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 SX.

Engine and Performance

Powering a 2023 BMW R 1250 RS is a 1254 cc air/liquid-cooled, 2-cylinder boxer engine that is capable of generating a maximum torque of 143 Nm and a maximum output of 134 bhp. The bike now features updated BMW ShiftCam technology that can support the new ECO mode too. With this technology, the bike now provides good fuel economy while providing equal power at all speeds.

Moving on, the motorbike comes with a 6-speed unit gearbox alongside an anti-hopping clutch.

The company offers three riding modes on its new dirt bike. The riding modes include Rain, ECO, and Road.

Suspension and Braking

The suspension duties in the motorcycle are handled by 45 mm up-side forks in conjunction with a BMW Paralever rear suspension.

In terms of braking, the bike boasts a twin 320 mm floating disc brake at the front accompanied by a single 276 mm disc brake at the back. The front disc comes with 4-piston radial calipers, while the rear one comes with 2-piston floating calipers. In addition, the bike gets Standard BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control, and Dynamic Traction Control.

Colors Schemes

According to BMW Motorrad, the new bike will come in two different color schemes – Sport and Triple black. Sport schemes include:

• Body color – Metallic Racing Blue/ White/ Red

• Frame – Light White

• Brake Calipers – Golden

• Windscreen – Tinted

Triple Black schemes include:

• Body Color – Brackstrom

• Frame – Agate Grey

• Brake Calipers – Golden

• Windscreen – Clear

Other Features

Talking about the features, the 2023 BMW R 1250 RS comes equipped with a TFT-colored screen displaying arrow navigation and connectivity, a seat heating system, LED turn indicators, and LED Daytime Running lights.

Besides, the sport bike features a sport core screen, emergency call functions, and a USB socket.
