4 Upcoming SUVs from Maruti Suzuki 2021

The leading automaker from India, Maruti Suzuki is soon up to releasing 4 new SUVs from its stable. The carmaker has planned on releasing all its new offerings by the end of 2021.  

Here, are the SUV models Suzuki has planned on launching this year.  

New Generation Brezza 

Yes, the popular SUV from Suzuki Family—Vitara Brezza is getting a makeover this year. The SUV is currently under the development phase while it's codenamed YXA. The SUV is expected to use the same platform as S-Cross. 

The SUV is getting a new design language this year while it is expected to arrive with the boxier look this time. As for the engine, it is speculated to boast the same 1.5-L naturally aspirated petrol engine that will churn out a peak power of 105bhp alongside a peak torque of 138Nm. Other notable feature speculations include 6-airbags, 5-speed manual/AMT gearbox, and so on.  

 

Baleno based SUV 

Similarly, the Indian carmaker is also introducing a new compact SUV on an affordable side this year. As per reports, the new SUV will be based on the Baleno while sharing the same platform as it has. This implies that it is likely to get the same engine and underpinnings as Baleno has.

The design will be a little couple-styled crossover. And speaking of the engine, it is also getting the same powertrain used in Baleno, i.e. a 1.2L DualJet naturally aspirated petrol engine churning out a power of 90bhp and a peak torque of 113Nm. It will also be offered the same gearbox options, a 5-speed manual/automatic transmission.  

 

New Suzuki Jimny 5-door 

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-doors is one of the most anticipated SUVs in the Indian market as well as the global scenario. The 5-door Jimny SUV was first unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo as Sierra. Recently, the spy shots of the Jimny 5-door along with its other major details have recently surfaced online.

In terms of the wheelbase and length, the 5-door version is going to be 300mm longer than the 3-door version. The Jimny-5 door will now adopt a length of 3850mm, 1645mm width, and 1730mm height followed by 2550mm of wheelbase. Here are the revealed details of the Jimny-5 door SUV.

Replacement to S-Cross 

Although S-Cross was one of the high hoped SUVs from the Suzuki family, it couldn’t perform well in terms of business. Maruti Suzuki is now planning on introducing a replacement to S-Cross by the end of 2021. The new crossover is named YFG, which could probably be based on Toyota’s DNGA platform.
