Design and Display

Apple iPad Air 2022 features a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display that has a resolution of 2360 x 1640 pixels. It has a peak brightness of 500 nits, a P3 wide color gamut, fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating, and True Tone white balance support.

In terms of design, the new iPad Air has the same design as its predecessor. It now comes with five different colors options - Space gray, Starlight, Pink, Purple, and Blue. Apple claims that the tablet has 100% recycled aluminum enclosure, 100% recycled tin in the solder of the main logic board, and 100% recycled rare earth elements in the enclosure and audio magnets. Performance

The biggest improvement on the latest iPad Air is on the inside of the device. It is now powered by Apple’s M1 chip, which is the same chip that powers the latest iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini. This 8-core CPU is said to be 60% faster than the A14 Bionic chip used in the last generation iPad Air.

For optics, there's a single 12MP camera on the back panel that shoots 4K video at up to 60fps. Upfront is a 12MP ultrawide lens with 122° FoV and Center Stage for selfies and video calls.
