Top 5 Global Wearables Brand 2021
The global wearables market has seen consistent and massive growth ever since the COVID 19 pandemic. In 2021, a total of 533.6 million units of wearables devices were shipped globally. According to a recent report of International Data Corporation (IDC), the global wearables market saw a massive 20% YoY growth in 2021. In the fourth quarter of 2021 alone, the worldwide wearables market hit a new record high of 171 million units in shipment, a growth of 10.8% from the same quarter in 2020.

The wearables market was boosted by Hearable devices, as it accounted for almost two-thirds of the entire market. Less popular categories like smart glasses, rings, connected shoes, and others managed to grow 94.1% during the quarter, mainly due to the products like Facebook Ray-Ban Stories and Oura Ring.
Apple was dominant in this segment of the market with a 34.9% share during the quarter. The Cupertino-based tech company shipped around 161.8 million units of wearables products in the whole of 2021, out of which 59.7 million units were shipped in the fourth quarter alone. Delayed availability of Series 7 watches from Q3 to Q4 of 2021 and the launch of the AirPods 3 helped drive Apple's growth during the quarter.

Xiaomi was second with a 10.2% market share in 2021. This Chinese company was driven by its smartwatch segment and managed to ship around 54.4 million units of wearables products in 2021. If you compare, Apple’s shipment in Q4 2021 alone was higher than the second-placed Xiaomi’s whole year.
Boosted by the Galaxy Watch 4 Series, Samsung managed to take the third spot, shipping 48.1 million units of wearables devices in 2021. Huawei captured an 8% share of the global wearables market, shipping 42.7 million units in the year. Lastly, the Indian company behind the brand BoAt, Imagine marketing, saw itself in the top 5 with its high-value, low-cost strategy. This Indian company saw the biggest improvement in 2021, a 163.4% YoY growth. boAt recorded an estimated shipment of 28.6 million units compared to 10 million units shipped in 2020.
