Asus has unveiled a new gaming laptop called the ROG Strix Scar 17 SE 2022. It brings a 12th Intel i9 processor, RTX 3080 Ti graphics, and up to 360Hz display. In this post, we will be looking at the specifications, features, and expected price of Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 SE 2022 in Nepal.

Display and Display

Asus ROG Strix Scar 17 SE comes in two 17.3-inch display options. Users can get either an FHD model that offers a 360Hz refresh rate or a QHD model, which offers a 240Hz refresh rate.

In both cases, the display here is an IPS panel with a 3ms response time, 100% sRGB, Dolby Vision support, and Adaptiv Sync compatibility.

Design-wise, the laptop offers a matte metallic texture with a gaming aesthetic. The chassis features RGB lighting, customizable Armor Caps, and specially developed invisible ink that appears in vivid green or blue color in UV light. There’s also a per-key RGB backlit keyboard with Aura Sync.

Performance

The Scar 17 SE is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i9-12950HX, which is a 65W TDP flagship processor with a boost frequency of 5.2 GHz. Backing up the CPU is NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU, which has a maximum TGP of 175W with Dynamic Boost.

Users can pair the laptop with up to 64GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM and 4TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD in a RAID 0 array.

For cooling, the Scar 17 SE is the first ROG laptop to use Thermal Grizzly’s Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and the GPU. According to Asus, it is an ultra-high performance compound that can drop CPU temperatures by up to 15°C compared to traditional thermal pastes.

Apart from that, there’s also a custom vapor chamber that covers 48.8% of the motherboard, updated Arc Flow Fans, and our heatsinks lined with ultrathin copper fins as slim as 0.1mm.

Other Features

Connectivity options on the laptop include two USB Type-A, two USB Type-C (one of which supports Thunderbolt 4), an HDMI, an RJ45, a Kensington Lock, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack. Wireless connectivity of WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1 is also supported by the laptop.

Furthermore, the laptop packs a 90Wh battery, and you get four speakers powered by Dolby Atmos technology.
