Bajaj's new trademark ‘Darkstar’
As mentioned in the company's application, Darkstar's name can be used for any of the motorcycles, scooters, three-wheelers, and electrics manufactured by the company. However, in view of the growing adventure motorcycle market, it has been claimed in the reports that the company is going to bring an adventure model.
If Bajaj is to launch an adventure motorcycle under the name Darkstar, it can be assumed that it will be based on the new generation Pulsar N250. Pulsar N 250 is a model that was launched in the Nepali market only a few days ago.
Bajaj's new adventure motorcycle is expected to directly compete with models like Suzuki Vstrom 250, Honda CB 200X, and Hero Xpulse 200.
If Bajaj is to launch a Pulsar-based adventure motorcycle in the market, it will offer features like 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, longer travel suspension, 250 cc engine, maximum power 24.5 PS, slipper clutch, and dual channel ABS.
Being an adventure motorcycle, it is expected to stay in an expensive price range compared to its other 250cc siblings.
Speaking of the Bajaj N250, the Pulsar N250 is powered by a 249.07cc BS6 oil-cooled fi-engine delivering power of 24.5PS alongside a peak torque of 21.6 Nm at 6500rpm. In addition, the motorcycle’s engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox transmission.
The braking duties are handled by dual disc brakes on both wheels while Bajaj also offers dual-channel ABS for optimum safety. The front disc brake measures 300mm while the rear one is 230mm.
The new Bajaj N250 is currently available in Nepal at Rs. 4,89,900/-
