Chinese automotive firms are well-known for inheriting the designs of top vehicle models, be it cars or bikes. Recently, Chinese automotive firm BYD also followed the trail.
BYD has recently unveiled its new electric car Yuan Pro which seems to be a clone of Ford EcoSport Facelift. Although the new Yuan Pro isn’t an exact clone to Ecosport, the design element resemblance in the EV makes it so.
Looking at the Yuan Pro EV from the side, it is almost impossible to distinguish the EV from Ford’s popular compact SUV.
BYD Yuan Pro Overview
Design
BYD claims that the Yuan Pro’s design elements have been recalled from the ‘Dragon Face 3.0’ design language. However, when we glance at the design of the SUV, it might be hard work for the brain to see no resemblance with Ford Ecosport. Only a minor cosmetic distinction in the car allows it to differ from Ford Ecosport.
Only the small and sleeker headlamp upfront and a closed-off grille in the EV is what makes it different from Ecosport in design.
Features
On the inside, the BYD Yuan Pro is nothing like the Ford Ecosport. The SUV gets a multifunctional steering wheel alongside a spacious cabin. This one is equipped with a 10.1-inch infotainment system alongside an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster. It is also available with the latest tech connectivity features.
For safety, the EV is infused with multiple airbags, an electronic stability program, ABS with EBD, traction control, and other safety features.
In addition, Yuan Pro is also equipped with BYD's unique VTOL mobile power station function, which can be called a "mobile charging treasure" in the automotive industry, 220V stable power supply, and young people's favorite outdoor hot pot barbecues, outdoor movies, camping parties, everything If you can, you can go and start with the car.
Battery and Range
The new Yuan Pro EV is available in 3 different trims and 2 battery capacities. The electric motor in the EV delivers a power of 136bhp alongside a peak torque of 210Nm.
The smaller battery (38.9kWh) comes with a range of 301km on a single charge while the bigger battery (50.1kWh) provides a claimed range of 401km.
Price and Availability
The new BYD Yuan Pro EV is now only launched in China while the early debut in other International markets holds a minor chance.
