Yes, you heard that right, the new 2020 Changli Nemeca is the cheapest electric car in the world that just hangs a price tag of $1200. The EV is also touted as a “New Energy Mini Electric Car for Adults”. The new Changli Nemeca is brought by Alibaba which is also the world’s second-largest e-commerce site.
Although this new EV by Alibaba is mini in size, the price tag is what allures us the most. Well, let’s have a quick overview of this amazing EV (Changli).
Changli Nemeca Overview
First on, let’s talk about its suspension which is the key highlight as Changli uses a three-link suspension design comprising two lower control arms and a track bar which we find un top-class cars such as the Toyota Land Cruiser, Suzuki Jimny and more. Instead of using the cheap leaf springs, the firm has used a good suspension unit in the EV.
On the front wheels, the EV doesn’t get any brakes while on the rear, it consists of a set of drum brakes, activated by rods, shafts, and a pedal crack which is powerful enough to grab those 10-inch inner diameter tyres.
Moreover, under the driver’s seat rests five 12-V lead-acid batteries chained up in series to produce a total of 60 volts. Its motor is rated at 1200W, i.e. around 1.6bhp, this, in turn, keeps its top speed to 32km/h only. Weighing only around 300kgs, Changli can perfectly be suitable for golf carts or something you can drive on backroads.

Highlighting on the exterior, the outer part of the car is entirely made up of metal. The body is made up of rectangular tubing and regular steel sheets stacked and welded up together. It gets a curved glass front windshield with LED projector-beam headlights. Likewise, on the inside, it boasts faux-leather seating, plastic door cards, and padded carpeting like the regular EVs.
Although the Changli Nemeca is not much of a powerful electric vehicle, we can compromise in it glancing at the pricing itself. However, it can be a perfect companion for ones looking lower-end EVs for some other tasks. The vehicle is now officially available for purchase at the Alibaba website.
