From now on, you can easily clear the payment for your vehicle’s tax/bluebook renewal fee via the official Nagarik app from the Nepal government. The department has officially confirmed to include this feature in the app just yesterday.
And for further process, a proper system is being set up at the DOTM office under their management which will further allow us to make our vehicle tax payment online.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has stated that the work of connecting the tax payment service to the citizen app has reached the final stage and it will officially be available for use in few days. For this, preparations are being made to connect the payment service provider licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank to the citizen app.
More on, as third-party insurance is mandatory for vehicle renewal, the concerned department has also taken this in hand and has been making arrangements for paying the insurance amount online too (via the Nagarik app).
How to renew Bluebook or pay vehicle tax using Nagarik App?
-
First of all, all the details of your vehicle should be filled in the traffic management information system of Bagmati Pradesh. If the details are not filled then it can be easily filled from the citizen app or the portal of Bagmati Pradesh.
-
If you don't have the Nagarik app on your smartphone, download the Citizen app from Apple or Google Play Store. If so, fine. After logging in to the Nagarik app, go to the Vehicle Tax option and fill in the details of your vehicle.
-
After filling in the details of the vehicle, select the Bagmati province and select the office where your vehicle is registered.
-
Mention the type of vehicle, check number, and other details. Then press the search button at the end.
-
It shows the details of the vehicle as per the details already in the server of the traffic management information system. Then swipe from right to left to see the full details of your vehicle. Click on the 'Pay Now' button at the end. After seeing the details including the entire amount, choose the office that suits you.
-
Now you can choose from which medium to pay. Select one of them and submit the renewal fee.
-
Now you can see the details of the vehicle tax you have paid on the left side of the place where the previous vehicle details were seen in the app. From here, you can download the latest bill of lading.
-
Third-party insurance can now be obtained from any insurance company. Such insurance can also be purchased from e-services and various other wallets.
-
Now print this third-party insured document of your bike/car and recently downloaded invoice and go to the nearest transport office. This can be done within a month of doing all this from mobile. Then the bluebook is renewed.
