Although there is high competition when it comes to smartphone brands on the market, if we are to discuss smart tablets, the case is somewhat different. Only two of the popular tech giants seem to competitively dominate the tablet market for a long interval. Well, you may be very much familiar with these names. Yes, that’s Apple and Samsung definitely.
Apple iPad Pro and Samsung Galaxy Tabs are two of the most popular tablet currently available in the market while both of these devices rest at the top-notch when it comes to the tablet market.
However, the game might change a little now as the Chinese tech giant, Huawei has also recently pushed out a new tablet offering in the market. The company has recently unveiled its new tablet, named the Huawei MatePad Pro in the market.
Let’s have a quick over of the device.
Huawei MatePad Pro Overview
The new Huawei Matepad Pro flaunts a 10.8-inch AMOLED panel which supports a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. The most amazing facet of the device is its superb screen to body ratio which is only 90% as the Matepad Pro adopts super-thin bezels at the top.
More on, speaking of the other unique facet of the device, it is the punch-hole display. The Huawei Matepad Pro is the debutant tablet to feature such display. Until now, we had only seen this feature on most of the smartphones but Huawei has made this possible on their new smart tablet. This also proves the Chinese tech giant’s work on quick innovation on their devices,
Additionally, after speaking of the display, let’s come on to the camera features of the device. Talking of this, Huawei has integrated minimal specs on its lens side. The device has a 12MP lens at the rear while the front punch-hole houses an 8MP selfie lens. However, we know that tablets mostly don’t come with an extra-ordinary lens.
And not to forget, Huawei also provides laptop-mode on the MatePad Pro which means the users can also use the tablet with PC interface. Like the iPad Pro, you can easily connect a keyboard on the tablet and use it as a PC in some cases. Also, the popular M-Pen stylus will be coming with the device.

Seemingly, glancing at the internals of the MatePad Pro, the device is powered by Kirin 990 chipset which comes coupled with two different RAM options: 6GB or 8GB. The same goes for the internal storage too as it also has an option for either 128GB or 256GB.
On the software side, the device runs on Android 10 with EMUI 10 on top while the Google Mobile Services suite is still missing on it which is a little downfall of the device. However, the new multi-screen collaboration mode on the MatePad Pro helps the user to emulate their Huawei phone on the tab’s screen.
Finally, discussing the powerhouse of the device which is its battery, the Huawei MatePad Pro houses a massive 7250mAh battery with 40W Huawei SuperCharge support. The new smart tablet also supports 15W wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
