According to the reports, the iPhone 14 will drop the FF (fixed focus) selfie camera for an AF (auto focus) camera. It will be a massive upgrade for iPhone 14’s front camera, significantly improving the capturing quality of photos and videos.

Other upgrades include a 6P lens with a bright f/1.9 aperture over the 5P lens with an f/2.2 aperture.

Kuo also shared that Apple has some new first-time suppliers for the front camera components. The component suppliers for iPhone 14’s front camera will be:

CIS: Sony
Lens: Genius and Largan
VCM: Alps and Luxshare ICT
CCM: LG Innotek and Cowell

Sony will continue to provide camera sensors for the iPhone 14. Similarly, Genius and Largan will continue to provide lenses, while Alps and Luxshare will supply the new focus module.

However, LG Innotek and Cowell will manufacture the CCM (CMOS camera module) for the iPhone 14. For the first time, Apple will partner with the South Korean company LG Innotek.
