Kia has introduced the much-awaited Sonet subcompact SUV in the Nepali market. The KIA SONET is hitting a big benchmark among the sub-compact SUV segment.

Overview

• The Sonet uses the same platform as the Hyundai Venue. 
• Externally, the Kia Sonet inherits Kia's distinctive design DNA that integrates the brand's signature styling features such as the iconic 'tiger-nose' grille, with a 3D 'stepwell' geometric grille mesh. 
• The base variant gets standard wheels while the top-spec variants get 16-inch alloy wheels.
• The Sonet gets a 1.2 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 82 hp of power and 115 Nm of torque. 
• The 1.2-liter petrol is only available with a 5-speed manual – as is the venue. 
• The Kia Sonet's cabin will feature vertically framed air vents on the dashboard with a metallic, diamond-knurled pattern. 
• The interiors are spacious and offer a range of creature comforts.
• Moreover, it will have high-quality materials, a digital instrument cluster, and a first-in-segment 10.25-inch HD touchscreen with navigation and sound mood lighting, among others.

10. A meter puts out 115 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. With 6-speed automatic.

Why is the car price increasing in Nepal?

Vehicle taxes are so high in Nepal that the fare of a single vehicle is three times higher than in India. Excise duty, customs, spare parts, roads, and VAT add 241% to the manufacturer's price tag for Indian imports and 248% for third-country imports.
