In fiscal year 2074/75, a total of 8,276 units of utility vehicles were imported in Nepal while in previous FY 2075/76, a total of 8,176 units were imported. This implies that there were 100 units less number of vehicles imported in the recent FY.
However, Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) can be seen to be accelerating around the Nepali roadways at a massive number. The major reason this is the increasing craze for SUVs on the Nepali routes while its high demand on the International market too.
SUVs manufactured by Mahindra, Toyota and Nissan initially became very much popular in the Nepali auto market. Due to the poor roads and difficult geographical conditions in our country, these SUVs came to be very much popular around a short timeline. While under the category of SUVs too, the Compact and Sub-compact SUVs are seen to have a competitive fight amongst each other.

Mahindra has become the largest utility vehicles selling a company in Nepalese market for Fiscal Year 2075/76. The popular SUVs by the company such as the Mahindra Scorpio, Bolero, XUV 500 and TUV 300 were SUVs with the highest number of sales in the FY 2075/76. These SUVs account for 28% of the whole market share. The recent data suggest that Mahindra&rsquo;s official distributor, Agni Inc. has imported 2,268 units of utility vehicles.

Similarly, on the second position is Hyundai which accounts for 15% of total market share in FY 2075/76. The company has imported a total of 1,274 units of utility vehicles while the highest selling models is the Hyundai Creta SUV. However, the latest e-vehicle by Hyundai, the Kona EV has not been included in the data.

In the same way, on the third position rests Maruti Suzuki which accounts for 12% of total market share for FY 2075/76. In the previous FY, the company had imported 979 units of vehicles in Nepal while the Suzuki Vitara was at the highest units.

Accordingly, Tata is in fourth position with 10% of the market share. The firm had imported 838 vehicles in the FY 2075/76. Tata&rsquo;s sub-compact SUV, Nexon is the highest sold SUV by the firm.

Ford rests at the fifth position with 7% accountability for total market share. The firm had imported 548 units of cars in the FY 2075/76. Ford EcoSport was the SUV imported in the highest number.&nbsp;
On the sixth position is Toyota with 5% of total market share while 444 units of Toyota cars were imported the previous FY. Competing Toyota, is the next well-known car brand, i.e. Nissan which also accounted for the same market share of 5% while 386 units of Nissan vehicles were imported in the last FY. The company has imported models such as Nissan Terano, Kicks and XTrail which have been quite popular around the Nepali market.
In the same way, Renault is at the eight positions with 3% of total market share while the firm had imported 255 units of SUVs in the previous FY.
Finally, Jeep and Kia are at the ninth and tenth position respectively for highest selling SUV brands for the FY 2075/76. Both of these firms hold a market share of 2% and 1% respectively while Jeep had imported 182 units of SUVs and Kia had imported 83 units in the given FY. However, the electric SUV by Kia has not been included in the data given.
Remaining 12% of market share was held by different other car companies which imported the remaining units. While talking of ambulances imported by various companies, the total units of ambulances imported are 410 units.&nbsp; &nbsp;
