The five-door Jimny and Fronx were unveiled by Maruti Suzuki last month at the Auto Expo 2023. The car company has now additionally confirmed the introduction of both of these vehicles for the Australian market.

Overview

The Fronx and Jimny will be introduced in Australia in the upcoming months. They will be produced in India and exported there. At the Delhi Auto Fair, Maruti Suzuki, the largest carmaker in India, showcased the highly anticipated Jimny 5-door SUV and Fronx small SUV.

The bookings began on the same day, and both automobiles attracted a lot of interest. The Jimny 5-door reservation fee is set at Rs. 25,000, while the Fronx's is set at Rs. 11,000. Almost 6500 bookings for the Fronx and over 18000 for the Jimny 5-door have been made with the company thus far.

The Jimny 5-door is produced at the company's Gurgaon factory, and the Fronx would be made at a factory in Gujarat. Both of these vehicles will be sent to Australia, it has now been confirmed.

Jimny 5-Door

The Jimny 5-door has a ground clearance of 210mm and measures 3,985mm long, 1,645mm wide, and 1,720mm high. The 1.5-liter NA petrol engine that powers the 5-door Jimny produces 105 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque.

There are two different types of transmissions: a 4-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual. Suzuki's All Grip 4x4 system and low-range transmission with "2WD-high," "4WD-high," and "4WD-low" are also included in the Jimny 5-door.

Given the requirement for products that offered good value for money in India, Maruti needed to take a different approach. Because they decided to prepare it for this, we will soon see the Maruti Jimny 5-door in India.

Fronx

Now let's talk about the Fronx, which is based on the Baleno hatchback. The small SUV has a Baleno-like profile with the style and attitude of the Grand Vitara. In terms of the Fronx's engine and transmission, two engine options are available: a 1.0-liter booster jet turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.2-liter NA petrol engine.
