In total, there are 12 Suzuki models with CNG options now.
What is CNG Technology and how do CNG vehicles operate?
Compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles operate much like gasoline-powered vehicles with spark-ignited internal combustion engines. The engine functions the same way as a gasoline engine.
Natural gas is stored in a fuel tank, or cylinder, typically at the back of the vehicle. The CNG fuel system transfers high-pressure gas from the fuel tank through the fuel lines, where a pressure regulator reduces the pressure to a level compatible with the engine fuel injection system.
Finally, the fuel is introduced into the intake manifold or combustion chamber, where it is mixed with air and then compressed and ignited by a spark plug.
Upgrades and Changes in the Suzuki Baleno and XL6 CNG models?
Both Maruti Suzuki Baleno and XL6 now arrive with extensive changes in the CNG models. The exterior styling of the vehicle has been updated while there is an addition of new features in the cabin space as well.
The new updates also include a 360-degree camera, Heads-Up Display, a new 9-inch digital touchscreen system, updated digital instrumental clusters, and so on.
Powering the Baleno S-CNG is a 1.2L DualJet Petrol engine that churns out a power of 77.49 PS at 6000rpm alongside a peak torque of 98.5 Nm at 4300 rpm.
On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 S-CNG is powered by a 1.5L K Series petrol unit that churns out a power of 87.83PS at 5500 rpm alongside a peak torque of 121.5Nm.
With the new offerings in the CNG portfolio, Maruti Suzuki is extensively planning to grow its CNG platform.
