The High Court, Patan has issued an injunction regarding the fact that the traffic police have been stopping the use of mobile holders used by ride-sharing users for some time now.
The order was issued by Judge Subhash Paudel and Narishwar Bhandari while hearing a case in Patan High Court. The full text of the court's decision has not yet arrived.
David Chaudhary and Aryanraj Pandey on behalf of the ride-sharing company Sajilo Saathi Pvt Ltd had filed a writ on 21st Mangsir with a demand to be allowed to keep GoPro cameras and mobile stands in Patan High Court.
With the order of the High Court, now the traffic police will not be able to take action against those who keep mobile stands on bikes.
Since last August, the traffic police office has prohibited the use of mobile stands and GoPro cameras on bikes.
The police issued a notice saying that drivers who keep such a stand will be punished. The police have been issuing a fine of Rs 500 to 20,000 to the drivers who keep the stand without complying with the notice.
Especially the riders who joined the ride-sharing platform were facing hassles with this new rule in the past.
