Mobile Import cost exceeds Rs. 24 billion in Nepal within just 7 months

In the last 7 months of the current fiscal year alone, mobile phones worth Rs. 24.68 billion have been imported into the Nepali market. The import data prepared by Customs Department up to Magh month of the current fiscal year 2077/78 shows this data of mobile phone import in the Nepali market.

According to the customs department office, a total of 43,68,872 units of mobile phones have been imported into the Nepali market during this time period. As a result, the government alone has collected a revenue of Rs. 3.8 billion within this period.

Moreover, the data also signifies that 704,224 units of mobile phones have been imported in Nepal in the month of Magh alone.

Likewise, in these 7 months, 61,397 units of smartwatches have been imported for which Rs. 124.17 million has been spent from Nepal.
