The automotive landscape in Nepal is evolving at lightning speed, and Honda is not one to be left behind. Syakar Trading, the authorized distributor of Honda scooters in Nepal, has pulled off a remarkable feat by introducing the all-new Honda Dio 125 at the NADA Auto Show 2023. This speedy launch has taken the Nepali market by storm, following closely on the heels of its Indian debut.c
Design
The Dio 125 showcases a fresh design that blends elements from the Grazia and Dio models. The front end features the iconic LED Headlamp with Integrated Split-LED DRLs, accompanied by halogen side indicators on the apron. The sculpted look and bold graphics give it a distinct appeal. The rear end retains the Jet-styled Tailamp, Halogen Side Indicators, External Fuel Cap, and Split Grab Rail from the Grazia, but introduces a new Dual-Tip Muffler. It's available in a range of eye-catching colours to suit various tastes.
Performance
One of the most significant upgrades that the Dio 125 brings to the table is its powerful 125cc engine, a step up from its predecessor's 110cc powerplant. Honda aims to replicate the success of the Dio 110 in the 110cc segment with this new offering. The Dio 125 is available in two variants: Standard and Deluxe. Both share identical specifications and features, but the Deluxe variant, known as the H-Smart version, comes with a Wavy Front Disc and Smart Key, offering several convenient keyless functions. Under the hood, the Dio 125 packs a 123.92cc single-cylinder, Fan-Cooled, 4-stroke, SI Engine that churns out 8.28PS of power at 6250rpm and 10.4Nm of torque at 5000rpm. Its V-Matic transmission, 5.3-litre fuel tank, and BS6-compliant PGM-FI engine ensure a familiar and reliable riding experience. The Dio 125 comes with Honda's Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) Technology, an Automatic Idling Stop System, Silent Start, and Side Stand Engine Cut-Off. The H-Smart variant offers additional features like the Smart Safe, Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Start, Battery Indicator, and Smart Key Indicator, making it a tech-savvy choice.
