Nokia has unveiled its rugged 5G smartphone called Nokia XR20. The smartphone brings military-grade exteriors and four years of security upgrades. Here, we will be talking about the specifications, price, and availability of the Nokia XR20. 

Nokia XR20 is priced at $550 for the 6/128GB configuration and the first sales will begin on August 24. 

Nokia XR20 Overview

Being a rugged phone, Nokia XR20 has a ruggedized casing that is MIL-STD810H-certified to withstand drops from 1.8 meters. It is IP68 rated dust and water-resistant up to 1.5 meters for 60 minutes. The display here is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and can be operated with a wet hand. Nokia has built the phone to last long in both hardware and software as the company is saying they will provide up to 3 years of OS version upgrades and up to 4 years of security updates. 

Apart from its rugged built, the smartphone is just like any other budget 5G smartphone. It has a 6.67 inches IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a peak brightness of 550 nits. The device is on the heavier side weighing 248 grams and measures 10.64mm thick.

Under its ruggedized body is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor. This 8nm 5G processor is then paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Further, the device will ship with Android 11 out of the box.

For the camera, Nokia XR20 has a dual-camera setup at the back and a center punch-hole cutout for a selfie camera. It features a 48MP main sensor followed by a 13MP ultrawide and an 8MP selfie camera. The camera system comes with features like ZEISS Optics, ZEISS Portrait, ZEISS Cinematic Effects, Action Cam mode, Night mode, HDR, Beautification, Panorama, and much more. 

Powering the device is a 4630mAh battery that supports 18-watt fast charging and 15-watt wireless charging. Nokia claims that the device provides up to 2-days of battery life and brings features like Qi wireless charging, Quick Charge 4.0, and AI battery-saving technology. Furthermore, the smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and the wireless connectivity of dual-band WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.
