Ola, the famous two-wheeler electric scooter manufacturer company, is going to bring a cheap electric scooter. Bhavish Agrawal, CEO of Ola, informed us about the new scooter through a tweet.
The company is currently selling scooters worth INR 1 lakh and scooters worth INR 140,000. According to CEO Agarwal, targeting this festive season, the company will launch a new scooter on October 22. He has given any other information about its upcoming scooter.
However, seeing his Twitter hint, we can confirm that it is going to be a cheap and affordable scooter.
The business of Ola, which has gained a lot of attention, has been on a massive decline for the past few months. Keeping this in mind, the company is selling the current scooters at a huge discount.
In terms of monthly sales, Ola lost 5 first positions and dropped out of the Top 5 Best Selling Electric Scooters in India.
Ola will bring a new scooter with fewer features compared to the currently available S1.
Compared to Ola S1 Pro, the price and features of the S1 are also lower. It can be assumed that the company will launch a new scooter for INR 80,000 targeting low-budget customers.
Ola Scooters in Nepal
Ola scooters were recently showcased at the recent NADA EV EXPO 2022 that happened last month in Nepal.
The company showcased the popular model, S1 at the EV Show. However, the company didn't any information about the launch date and price of the scooter at the show.
As per reports, the new Ola Electric Scooters are highly expected to launch this month- October here in Nepal. Speaking of the price of the scooter, the new showcased model Ola S1 is expected to arrive around a price tag of 3.5-4 lakhs in Nepal.
Ola S1 Electric Scooter
Ola S1 is powered by an Ola hyperdrive motor capable of generating maximum power of 8.5KW and 58Nm of maximum torque.
The new Ola S1 can attain a top speed of 95 km/hr while the 2.98 kWh lithium-ion battery powering the scooter can provide a range of 141 km on a full charge.
The scooter comes with three driving modes- Normal, Eco, and Sport with Sport being the most powerful and less-efficient mode.
Other features in the Ola S1 include a large 36L storage space, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth feature, a navigation system, and so on.
Excitingly, the scooter also comes with an exciting Reverse driving feature that allows the rider to drive the scooter backward as well.
