Oppo has unveiled its first assisted reality (AR) smart glass dubbed the Oppo Air Glass in the Oppo INNO Day 2021 event. The device is designed to snap magnetically onto the custom Oppo frames and projects 2D information into your field of view. Oppo Air Glass Specifications

Design

As mentioned above, the Oppo Air Glass is designed to snap magnetically onto the custom Oppo frames and project 2D information into your field of view. It uses a micro projector to overlay different kinds of information on the glass. The device has a single-lens design and weighs just around 30 grams. It comes in two parts: a detachable monocle waveguide device (in black or white) and a frame (silver half-frame or a black full frame).

Features

The Oppo Air Glass is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor. The waveguide device here has a tiny Spark Micro Projector that uses micro-LED technology, supporting two display modes – 16-level grayscale and 256-level grayscale. Although the micro-LED tech here can deliver a brightness of up to 3 million nits, It’ll only deliver up to 1400 nits in average brightness, ensuring a vivid and sharp visual display in different lighting conditions.

Oppo Air Glass can be operated using the Smart Glass App on Oppo Watch 2 and any Oppo smartphone installed with ColorOS 11 or above versions. Users can also operate the glass using hand gestures, touch, voice, or head movements. The device comes with a variety of applications like Weather, Calendar, Health, Teleprompter, Translation, and Navigation. As per Oppo, the Air Glass supports Mandarin Chinese-English two-way translation, and Mandarin Chinese-Japanese and Mandarin Chinese-Korean will be offered soon in the future.

Oppo Air Glass Price and Availability

Oppo Air Glass will launch sometime in Q1 2022 in China. The device will be available in two colors Black or White, along with two custom frame accessories. Oppo has not revealed the Pricing details of Oppo Air Glass yet.
