The eagerly awaited Realme GT Neo 5 recently went on sale. The brand-new smartphone, which comes with some highly noteworthy specs and features, was unveiled in the company's home market of China.

Let's now examine the Realme GT Neo 5's characteristics, availability, and anticipated pricing in Nepal too.

Design and Display

The Chinese manufacturer of this smartphone has given special attention to its design. In addition to offering top-notch specs and features on a budget, the firm also sought to provide a distinctive appearance. Although the front has a conventional appearance, the device sticks out on the back.

Although the inclusion of a sizable camera island on the rear is not particularly novel, it does have a clear pane and LED illumination to the right of the camera system. Users can see the smartphone's flagship-grade chipset through the transparent glass on the rear, according to official notes.

Halo LED is lighting all around this window. The smartphone comes in a range of hues, with the purple variant including the first rear panel on the market made using a light matte fusion method to produce textured material.

In the meanwhile, there are 25 various color possibilities available with RGB-enabled LED lights. It may be customized for notifications and other functions, and it also flashes red when the battery is less than 20%.

Realme further claims that the screen is SGS approved for sensitive touch and has an effective implementation adaptive refresh rate. A big 6.74-inch OLED screen measuring 1.5K pixels wide by 144Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming is included on the Realme GT Neo 5.

Performance and Storage

The phone also features the greatest cooling area in the industry, with Graphene phase-change cooling technology covering a 6,580 sq. mm area. The phone will be kept pretty cool while charging at 240W and still perform at its best in demanding circumstances like gaming thanks to this cooling technology.

The Realme GT Neo 5's internal processor is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU. The processor, which was introduced approximately a year ago, has now been surpassed in Qualcomm's extensive portfolio by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, since the GT Neo 5 will fight in the premium midrange market and not the flagship, it shouldn't be an issue.

The 240W model also offers 16GB RAM and either 256GB or 1TB of storage as memory alternatives. The GT Neo 5 150W is offered with 256GB of storage and 8GB, 12GB, or 16GB of RAM. The latest Realme UI 4.0 and Android 13 will already be pre-installed on it in terms of software.

Camera

Compared to its previous, the Realme GT Neo 5's camera has been improved. The rectangular camera unit is located inside to the left and is essentially hidden by a blackout of the top third of the phone's rear. The LED strip flash is located just outside, while three cameras are housed inside, grouped in two vertical circles.

A 50MP 1/1.56′′ Sony IMX890 sensor, OIS, and an f/1.9 lens are features of the primary camera on the back. There is also a 2MP macro camera and an 8 Mega-Pixel ultrawide lens with a 112-degree field of view. On the front, there is a 16MP Samsung sensor for taking selfies.

Fast Charging

With the capability for 150W charging, the Realme GT Neo 3 was one of the phones with the fastest charging times at launch. And its descendant goes even further with this.

The GT Neo 5 is the first smartphone in the world to allow absurd 240W charging. To begin with, the USB-C interface can only offer a maximum charging power of 240W. Another version is available that supports 150W charging.

Realme has already shared information about its 240W charging technology in advance of its launch. The company created a special 12A charging cable for this purpose, using thickened copper wires rated at 21AWG, the highest in the industry. This enables the cable to accommodate 20V/12A usage.

On the contrary side, the USB-C adapter features two double GaN components. With a density of 2.34W/cu.cm, it is still very compact and has a size that is comparable to the 160W SuperDart adaptor. The innovative method converts electricity from 20V/12A to 10V/24A in three directions using a 100W charge pump parallel design to charge smartphones.

This implies that the phone will feature three separate battery cells. The charger's up to 98.5% charging conversion efficiency was also alluded to by the manufacturer. 13 real-time sensors continuously monitor this process to ensure safety, and if a threat is present, they can limit power.

The charging solution has fire-proof components for enhanced security. Additionally, the 65W PD, QC, and VOOC protocols are backward compatible with the 240W SuperVOOC technology.

Additionally, Realme asserts that even after 1,600 complete 240W fast charging cycles, the battery's health is still above 80%. In terms of real battery capacity, the GT Neo 5's 240W model has a 4,600mAh cell. A larger 5000mAh battery will be included in the 150W variant.
