The Nepali smartphone market is mostly dominated by budget and mid-range smartphones compared to the flagship ones. As every smartphone consumer, Nepali consumers also thrive for good specs on a smartphone which can also fit their budget.

Both of these phones: Realme 5i and Redmi Note 8 are popular budget phones currently in the market. However, the Realme 5i is a little bit of a pricier side compared to the Note 8.

Realme has a bit tweaked the design of the new 5i compared to its other models 5 and 5s. However, the device still adopts the plastic body on the back and instead of the regular diamond-cut pattern Realme has used &lsquo;SunRise Design&rsquo; which looks more interesting.
On the other, speaking of the Redmi Note 8, the device gets glossy glass finish at the back while it&rsquo;s also a little bit slimmer compared to Realme 5i.&nbsp;
Design-wise, the Redmi Note 8 both looks and feels more premium than the Realme 5i.

The Realme 5i and Redmi Note 8 comes with 6.5-inches and 6.3-inches display respectively. However, in terms of resolution, Redmi Note 8 takes the lead, as it comes with Full HD+ (2340x1080) resolution while the 5i gets an HD+ (1600x720) resolution.

Speaking of the processor, both these smartphones are on a balanced side as both of them is powered by the same chipset, i.e. Snapdragon 665 processor which is, in fact, a good processor for a budget phone.
Moreover, when it comes to RAM and Internal Storage, the Realme 5i only comes in one variant: 4/64GB. However, Xiaomi offers two options for Redmi Note 8&mdash;4/64GB and 6/128GB.

Both of these devices come with a quad-camera setup on the rear along with a single lens on the front. The Realme 5i comes with a 12MP primary sensor while the Redmi Note 8 gets a 48MP primary lens which is a big bump. The rest of the lens on both these devices is the same, i.e. an 8MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Similarly, on the front, you will be getting an 8MP selfie shooter on the Realme 5i while in the Redmi Note 8, Xiaomi kicks in 13MP selfie camera. Both of the devices come with a 4K video recording feature.

IN the AuTuTu test, the Realme 5i scores 170,480 points while the Redmi Note 8 receives 174,277 points. While in Geekbench 5 multi-core test, the Realme 5i and Redmi Note 8 got 1308 points and 1324 points respectively.
In terms of Gaming, the Realme 5i takes the lead as it comes with a lower-resolution display which consumes less power. However, the Redmi Note 8 is also not bad either. There are no heating issues seen in any of these phones. Likewise, in fingerprint recognition speed, Realme 5i rests at the peak as it has a quick fingerprint response than the Redmi Note 8.&nbsp;

<h2>Battery and Charging </h2>
Xiaomi has provided a 4000mAh battery on the Redmi Note 8 while Realme offers a massive 5,000mAh battery on the 5i. However, the Redmi Note 8 gets an 18W Fast Charger which won&rsquo;t be receiving in the Realme 5i.

In terms of connectivity, both of these devices hold two -Nano-SIM slots with an extra slot for microSD cards. But in case of the charging port, Redmi Note 8 takes the lead as Note 8 gets USB Type-C port, unlike the 5i which still has a micro-USB port.
Other connectivity features such as dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth, FM Radio and other sensors are included in both these devices.
