Renault Kwid Electric Launched in Brazil | Price, Features?

The French automaker Renault has officially launched the all-electric version of its successful offering Kwid in Brazil. This hatchback is called Kwid E-TECH.
The concept model of the hatchback was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Show with the name K-ZE. The new Renault Kwid E-Tech is also the cheapest electric vehicle in Brazil which arrives with a price tag of 142,990 Brazilian Real (approx. NRs.37.5 lakhs).
Coming on to the design of the hatchback, it looks similar to that of the Renault Kwid. However, being an electric vehicle, some minor updates have been made. For instance, this one boasts a closed-up front grille with a chrome finish as there is no engine upfront.
Moreover, we can also witness a new E-TECH badging all around the hatchback. The car runs on a set of alloy wheels.
On the interior side, the Kwid E-TECH equips an EV-specific instrument cluster and a 4-spoke steering wheel. The circular gear selector is similar to its fuel-based sibling while the car gets electric power windows and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Power and Range?
The KWID E-Tech is powered by 26.8kWh batteries providing a range of up to 298 km on urban areas. Using a domestic outlet, the car can charge up to 190 km range within 9 hours and few extra hours for a full charge.
Similarly, Renault claims that the hatchback can provide a 190km range in just 40 minutes using a fast-charging station.

In terms of performance, being an entry-level electric hatchback, the Kwid E-TECH delivers a power of 65bhp while it can attain a speed of 0-50km/h within 4.1 seconds.
In terms of safety features, the Renault Kwid E-TECH features 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, Electronic stability control, and Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) as well.
In total, the weight of the car is claimed 977 kg.
