Recently, it has been proposed to impose a fine of Rs. 5000 on traffic rules violators. Currently, the one who doesn&rsquo;t follow the traffic rules is charged from Rs. 500 &ndash; Rs. 1500 depending on the nature of their rule violation while from now on Traffic Police has urged to increase the fine to Rs. 5000/-
The department of transportation has planned on initiating this new rule as a strict punishment to the traffic rule violators while also minimize the negligence of careless riders. However, the department is holding discussions with the secretaries and ministries of all seven provinces regarding this new Federal Vehicle and Transport Law Act. Therefore, only after the final approval by Parliament, the new law will come into effect.
Currently, the traffic rule violators are charged up to Rs. 1500/- by the Traffic Department while for Taxi Riders, the department is authorized to charge up to Rs. 3000 fine on rule violation.
