Samsung Reveals Single Stick RAM| DDR5 7200MHz RAM

Introducing Samsung’s latest DDR5 RAM solution, the technology now enables the user to get 512GB of DDR5 memory on a single RAM stick. Samsung recently posted a video on its YouTube channel highlighting the latest features of the Samsung DDR5-7200 module technology.

Samsung new 512GB DDR5 RAM modules refine the firm’s layer stacking memory packing tech, as used in its latest DDR4 memory modules. In the diagram below, you can compare the difference between Samsung’s 4-layer DDR4 memory chips, with the 8-layer DDR5 chips; both connected using Samsung’s Through Silicon Via technology.

Samsung’s new 512GB DDR5 RAM modules are used in its latest DDR4 memory modules; it upgrades the company’s layer stacking memory packing technology. The company was able to reduce the thickness of the silicon layers by up to 40 percent as well as reduce the layer spacing – so these more compact DDR5 integrated chipsets are 1.0mm versus 1.2mm thicker. In turn, Samsung will be able to build a single 512GB RAM stick by combining 8 stacked DRAMs.

Samsung claims to be faster than 6400Mbps and claims that its DDR5 technology is twice as fast as the previous generation. However, the increase in performance does not affect power efficiency, as Samsung’s DDR5 technology is 30% more energy efficient than its predecessor, as the voltages required to run DDR5 RAM are lower. Finally, the company said it will supply DDR5 RAM to data centers, phone OEMs, and laptop manufacturers alike
