Samsung sees revenue of over $55 billion in the second quarter of 2021 boosted by its semiconductor business

Samsung has posted its earnings report for the second quarter of 2021. The tech giant has reported 20 percent higher revenue and 54 percent higher operating profit year on year. Samsung saw revenue of KRW 63.67 trillion ($55.56 billion) in the quarter and made a profit of KRW 12.57 trillion ($10.97 billion) in the quarter.

Samsung did confirm that it took a hit on its mobile business due to the industry-wide component shortage as well as production disruptions in its Vietnam factories. The semiconductor business of Samsung proved to be the major financial driving factor for the company. It posted KRW 22.74 trillion (19.85 billion) in consolidated revenue and KRW 6.93 trillion (6.04 billion) in operating profit in the second quarter.
According to Samsung, the company will solidify its leadership in the premium foldable category and are working on under-display camera technology.
