Samsung’s ultimate flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra wins the award for the best Smartphone at the Global Mobile Awards (GLOMO Awards) during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2021. At the awards ceremony on June 30th, the smartphone was named ‘Best Smartphone’ of the past year.
On winning the best smartphone award, Stephanie Choi, Senior Vice President & Head of Marketing, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics said - “We are honored to have been recognized in such a competitive category at this year’s GLOMO awards. Samsung has a long, proud history of driving innovation, and we aim to deliver devices that meet the needs of our users now and in the future,”
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra nominated along with some of the best smartphones of 2021 - iPhone 12 Pro Max, OnePlus 9 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, and Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. Samsung was the only company with two of its smartphones being nominated. The smartphones were judged on criteria like physical design, performance, perceived value for money, user experience, and much more.

Overview
First on, the new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra flaunts a massive 6.82-inch 1440p AMOLED display with a higher refresh rate of 120Hz. Compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S20 Ultra now gets a 50% improved contrast ratio. S21 ultra can dynamically switch between 10Hz and 120Hz. With a QHD resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, the brightness of the device peaks at 1500 nits. Both the display and back panel of the S21 Ultra is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus.
Moreover, under the hood, the device is powered by its new flagship chipset, the Exynos 2100 chipset which provides similar performance as the Snapdragon 888. This one is far better than its previous flagship, the Exynos 990 chipset which we could see in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Likewise, highlighting the RAM and internal storage, the device now gets two options for RAM, i.e. 12/16GB while for internal storage, there are 3 options: 128/256/512GB. The graphics are handled by Mali-G78 GPU.
Now, coming on to the crucial part of Samsung flagships, i.e. its optics, the new Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra packs a quad-camera setup on the back which comprises a 108MP ISOCELL HM3 primary sensor alongside a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 10MP periscope telephoto lens accompanied by another 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Similarly, on the front, you will be getting a 40MP front camera that captures crisp selfies.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is backed up with a massive 5000mAh battery with a 25W fast, 15W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging capability. Further, you get features like an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, AKG tuned stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.2, and WiFI 6E.
