Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus Overview
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy
Like their Ultra sibling, the S23 and S23 Plus feature the overclocked version of Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This custom-tuned chip has a Cortex-X3 core, running at up to 3.36GHz, slightly higher than the usual maximum of 3.2GHz. Besides, the Adreno 740 GPU here also has a higher clock speed of 719MHz, up from 680MHz.
This custom-tuned Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is specially made for Samsung. The company is marketing the chip as the world’s fastest Snapdragon and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.
Talking about the software, both these flagship Galaxy phones run on the latest One UI 5.1 based on Android 13. Adding on, they both use the latest LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage technologies. Note: UFS 4.0 is not available for the 128GB storage variants.
Camera Section
There’s no change in the rear cameras—you get the same 50MP main camera with OIS, 12MP ultrawide with 120-degree FOV, and a 10MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical Zoom. However, all three models of the S23 series get a new 12MP selfie camera with autofocus that now does HDR video at 60fps.
Although you won’t see upgrades in camera hardware, there are many internal improvements in the camera of the S23 and S23 Plus. First, the updated image signal processor of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 delivers improvements in image quality. Differences

First off, the S23 Plus features a bigger 6.6-inch display compared to the 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED on the S23. With a bigger size, the S23 Plus also features a bigger 4700mAh battery with 45W fast charging compared to the 3900mAh, 25W fast charging on the vanilla model.
While on the topic of differences, Samsung has dropped the contour camera bump in favor of a floating camera design for both S23 and S23 Plus, which makes the phones look slightly different than their predecessors.
