Samsung Electronics, the world's largest and most trusted consumer electronics brand has just launched the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2017 in Nepal. The latest offering from the Samsung stable costs Rs.28,990 and is available for purchase from Samsung mobile outlets.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2017 is powered by 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425SoC and is backed up by 2GB of RAM. There's also 16GB of onboard storage which is expandable via Micro-SD card.
Sadly, the display of the new tablet isn't something that is too impressive. The 8-inch display isn't an AMOLED panel and the resolution of 1280*800 is downright disappointing. However, if you use the tablet mostly for watching movies, watching Youtube videos and using Facebook, the display will be fine. However, viewing texts, you can easily make out pixels on the screen.
There's also an 8MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. The front camera is a 5MP f/2.2 unit. While the camera on the Galaxy Tab A 2017 won't win any awards, it will certainly come handy while scanning documents and in cases when you really need to capture a shot. The bright f/1.9 lens also means that you can shoot good images in low-lit environment.
There's also Bixby on board. As with all the other Samsung products in 2017, Bixby has made its way into the Galaxy A 2017. Love it or hate it, Bixby is here and it is here to stay. I personally found that the Google Assistant is much better, returning results faster and also seemed to recognize my Nepali voice better. On the other hand, though, the Bixby is deeply rooted in the tablet and can do things that Google Assistant simply can't. Samsung is trying to build an ecosystem around Bixby and that's quite understandable. Bixby is slowly making its way into Washing Machines and Refrigerators too! And Samsung aims to equip all of its consumer electronics with Bixby by 2020.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2017 is a really good tablet and in a market where there is little to no competition, it's a sure win for Samsung. Samsung Galaxy Tab A undoubtedly is the best Tablet one can buy in Nepal for under Rs. 30,000.
