After releasing the teaser and leaving behind a range of teasers, Suzuki Motorcycles India has finally launched the much-awaited Katana in the Indian market.

Although this motorcycle is not a new face on the global market, it remains the first debut for India. Recently, an upgraded version of Katana with a Euro V emission-compliant engine was also launched overseas.

Well, what features does the new premium Suzuki motorcycle, Katana arrive with? Let’s have a quick look out at it.

Suzuki Katana Overview

Powered by a 999cc liquid-cooled DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine, the Suzuki Katana’s engine delivers a peak power of 152 PS at 11,000rpm and a peak torque of 106Nm at 9250rpm. The massive engine unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox transmission.

In addition, the motorcycle features a bi-directional quick shifter with a slipper clutch for a smooth gearing option. The unit is also enlightened by a 5-level traction control system.

The suspension duties in the Katana are handled by a fully-adjustable inverted telescopic fork upfront alongside a link-type coil spring at the rear. Similarly, for braking, the Suzuki Katana 1000 equips dual disc brakes on both the tyres accompanied by Brembo brakes at the front.

Moreover, the Katana Suzuki adopts a seat height of 825 mm and 140mm of ground clearance which cannot be considered a deal-breaker in the segment. This implies that the bike is hard o deal with the potholes of our trails.

Other key features in the new Suzuki Katana include an LED headlight, tail light, turn signals, LCD instrument cluster, Suzuki Intelligent Ride System, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector, dual-tone seats, Low RPM Assist, Dual-Channel ABS, and so on.
