Indian automaker Tata Motors has jumped to the second position of the best-selling car brand in the Indian market.
With car sales in the country slowing reviving after the battle with the COVID-19 pandemic, Indian carmakers are found to be growing fast-pace.
Not only the monthly sales of Tata Motors has increased in India but the YoY sales of the OEM have also recorded a significant increase.
The automaker accounted for a 74.48 percent YoY growth in the country.
Tata Motors Sales Report [September]
In the month of September alone, the carmaker sold 47,654 units of its vehicles. In the same way, on August 2022 as well the sales figure of Tata motors rested over 43,000 units.
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Managing Director Shailesh Chandra said the company attained its highest-ever monthly sales of 47,654 last month, led by record sales of Nexon and Punch. "Going forward, we expect the festive season will witness strong retail on the back of improving the supply of vehicles," he added.
"With the recent launch of the Tiago EV, the company has opened new vistas and is poised to drive the mass adoption of EVs across the country. Going forward, we expect the festive season will witness strong retail on the back of improving the supply of vehicles," he added.
Moreover, the company also states that its sales and export of commercial vehicles in the domestic market have also increased by 9 percent to 32,979 units last month (September). This sales figure rested at 30,258 units in the same month last year.
Similarly, the fast-paced EV sales of the company have also led to the sudden growth of the company’s report.
In September alone, Tata was able to sell 3,655 units of electric vehicles. While on the same month last year, the sales figure rested at 1,078 units.
Similarly, 3,845 units of Tata EV were sold in the month of August 2022.
Compared to the previous three months, in the latest months, the sales have been notably high by 1,42,330 units.
Top-Selling Tata Passenger Cars
Tata Punch
Last month, Tata Motors sold 12,251 units of Tata Punch staying on the list of Top-10 Best-Selling Cars of September.
Tata Nexon
In September, around 14,518 units of Tata Nexon were sold as compared to 9,211 units in the same month last year. This implies a YoY growth of 58 percent this year.
Tata Tiago
Another best-selling vehicle on the Tata list remains the Tata Tiago hatchback. In September 2022, a total of 6,936 units of Tata Tiago were sold opposed to 5,121 units last year. This implies a YoY growth of 35% this year.
In conclusion, the quick sales hype of the company has resulted in a top-notch sales report for the fourth quarter.
