Top 6 Highest Selling Bike brands in Nepal under 150cc segment

In the context of Nepal, the most popular and highest selling bikes are under 150 cc category. The bikes under 150cc-165cc in Nepal are also recognized as ‘power’ segment.

Well, most of you may have already guessed which bike brand comes at the top when it comes to the highest selling number in the 150cc segment. Yes, most of you may have guessed that right, it’s Bajaj Pulsar which is the highest selling bike (150cc category) in Nepal as of the data from March 2019.

From April-March 2018/19, Bajaj has sold 36,500 units of motorcycles under 150 cc category. If we are to highlight that on percentage, Bajaj holds 43% of the total 150 cc segment bike market share in Nepal. Bajaj Discover, Pulsar and V-15 come under the top-selling models by the firm.

Similarly, with the rapid pace of Bajaj, Yamaha has also followed the trail by selling around 23 thousand units of 150cc motorcycles in the market around 1-year timeline. Yamaha has a total market share of 27% in Nepal. Yamaha FZ series, R-15 v3.0, SZR are the top offerings by the firm under 150cc segment.

At the third place is TVS which has sold a total of around 12 thousand motorcycles in Nepal in a one-year period. TVS holds a market share of 14% in Nepal. Under 150cc comes the models like Apache 160 and Apache 160 4v which are the firm’s two main offerings. Lately, Apache has been growing its pace rapidly in the Nepali automobile market.

More on, at the fourth place of the list, is Honda. However, Honda is in the first place when it comes to scooters. Honda has sold around 8,500 units of motorcycle within a one-year period. It holds 10% of the bike market share in Nepal. Bike models such as Unicorn, Hornet, and XBlade come under 150cc Honda bikes segment.

Finally, at the fifth position is the Japanese automaker, Suzuki which had total sales of 2704 units of motorcycle within one year and holds 3% of total market share in Nepal. At the last or sixth position is the Indian company hero, which sold 1500 units in one year. It only holds 2% of the bike market share in Nepal.
