With the emerge of various SUV models, the competition of SUVs is increasing at a high rate in both Indian as well as the Nepali market. And, in fact, in recent times, the sales of SUVs are also increasing at a rapid pace compared to the past.
Furthermore, analyzing the recent sales report of SUVs in India in the month of August, it can be implied that there has been a huge diversity among the carmakers as the Top 10 SUVs on the list comes from a variety of carmakers which is, in fact, a good scenario. It also signifies the rapidly increasing competitive market of SUVs in the auto market.
Here have listed the top 20 best-selling SUVs in India on Aug 2019 along with the number of units sold. We have also tabulated the sales figure for the month of July.

Hyundai Venue has become the highest-selling SUV on the month of August with a total of 9342 units sold. However, the sales of Hyundai Venue have been declined compared to its previous month sales which were 9,585 units.
Similarly, on the second position rests the Maruti Suzuki Brezza which has shown a different side compared to the Venue as the sales of Suzuki Brezza was rapidly increased in the month of August compared to July. Maruti has successfully sold 7109 units of Brezza on Aug 2019.
Furthermore, the report suggests a huge decline in the sales of Toyota Fortuner too as the firm has only been able to sell 878 units of Fortuner on the month of August while on July 1187 units were sold. Likewise, Tata has also followed the same lead, suffering huge decline of sales on all its models on the list, the Tata Harrier and Tata Nexon. Mahindra also doesn’t seem to have a good lead. The sales of Mahindra XUV300 which is, in fact, Mahindra’s popular SUV has also bottomed down with a great pace on the month of August compared to July which might be a great loss for the firm.
Finally, at the bottom of the list rests Mahindra Thar with the sales of 326 units on August which has declined compared to the previous month sales, i.e. 466.
