Volkswagen Polo and Vento Facelift Launched in India | Price and Specifications

After long anticipation by Volkswagen fans, the firm has finally launched the new Polo hatchback and Vento Sedan (facelifted versions) in India. The facelift Polo comes with an introductory price of INR 5.82 lakhs while the Vento comes with the introductory price of INR 8.76 lakhs. Both of these four-wheelers has come with the same engine options.
Design features
Coming to the design features of the vehicle, the new facelift Polo inherits the same design features as its predecessor on the exterior but the part of the cosmetics, the car has received a little redesign. The twin chrome slat griller as in its predecessor has been replaced by a honeycomb mesh grille.
Similarly, the rear side of the hatchback has also got some redesigned tails lamps and black trim bumper which adds more of a sportier look to the car.
On the other hand, speaking of the Vento facelift, the car has also somewhat received similar cosmetic changes as the Polo facelift. The major change in the car is the new set of LED headlamps and DRLs at the front which adds a classy finish to its design.
Highlighting on the back, the features have not much changed, only there have been made some minor changes in the tail lamps and bumper.
Interior
Coming to the insides, the Polo Facelift has received much of similar functionality as its predecessors such as cooled glovebox, adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, automatic climate control and more. Only the major change is that the Polo Facelift now has a big touchscreen infotainment system which supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Similarly, going on to the Vento Facelift, it also inherits most of the similar features as the Polo Facelift, i.e. automatic climate control, height-adjustable seat, cooled glovebox, cruise control while the unique feature in the Sedan is the auto-leveling headlamps. Talking of the infotainment system, it has the same touchscreen IS as employed in the Polo Facelift.
Safety Features
Both of these cars have been provided with basic safety features such as dual airbags, ESP, ABS, 3-point seatbelt setup and front foglamps. Only the differential safety facet of the Vento from Polo is the front-side airbags and Hill-hold assist which you won’t get in the Polo Facelift.
Engine
The new Polo Facelift is powered by a similar set of engines as its predecessor. The hatchback is powered by a 1.0-liter MPI petrol engine which delivers a power of 76PS and 95Nm of peak torque. Also, the vehicle comes in next variant with 1.2L TSI turbo petrol mill which delivers a power of 104PS and 175Nm in the GT trim. The hatchback also has another 1.5-liter diesel engine option. The Polo Facelift comes in both 5-speed and 7-speed gearbox variants.
Similarly, the Vento Sedan also comes in both diesel and petrol engine options. The regular Vento comes consists of a 1.6L MPI petrol engine which produces a power of 105PS and 153Nm peak torque. Similarly, there is also another 1.2-liter petrol engine variant which delivers 104PS power with 175Nm torque.
Seemingly, the 1.5-liter diesel engine variant produces peak power and torque of 110PS and 250Nm torque respectively. Among all the engines, the diesel engine provides the most powerful performance. The Vento Facelift also comes with 5-speed and 7-speed manual gearbox options.
Price and Availability
The new Volkswagen Polo and Vento facelift have just been launched in India today while they might soon be available in Nepal too. Talking of the price of the vehicles, here we have tabulated the price of both the cars in India.
