Volkswagen's first Indian-made SUV Taigun's sales have officially started in Nepal. 

The Volkswagen Taigun has entered the Nepali market as the lowest-priced SUV from VW due to its production in India. The price for Volkswagen Taigun starts at Rs. 50.9 lakhs while goes up to 69.9 lakhs in India.

Pooja International, the sole distributor for Volkswagen cars in Nepal has launched the new Taigun SUV here.

Volkswagen Taigun Overview

The new Volkswagen Taigun is underpinned by the same platform used by its sibling- the Skoda Kushaq. 

Engine and Performance

Under the hood, the SUV comes with two engine options- 1.0L three-cylinder, TSI petrol engine, and 1.5L four-cylinder, TSI petrol engine. The former delivers a peak power of 114bhp alongside a peak torque of 175 Nm. Similarly, the latter generates a power of 148bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. However, the 1.0L engine variant is only available in Nepal.

As for the gearing option, a 6-speed manual unit is given as standard, while a 6-speed torque-converter automatic unit and a 7-speed DSG unit are given as two other options. 

Interior 

As for the interior, the car features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Moreover, the SUV offers tons of other premium features such as ventilated leather front seats, ambient lighting support, an electric sunroof, wireless charging, smart touch climate control, an 8-inch digital cockpit, and so on. 

The SUV also comes equipped with the MyVolkswagen Connect App that monitors the usage, driving behavior, live track information, and other information of the car. 

Safety Features

The new Volkswagen Taigun offers more than 40 safety features including Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), up to six airbags (top-variant), multi-collision brakes, ISOFIX, three-point seat belts. Tyre pressure deflation warning system, and so on.

Variants?

The vehicle is available in Dynamic Line and Performance Line options. The Dynamic Line is available in three variants – Comfortline, Highline, and Topline. On the other hand, the Performance Line is available in two variant options – GT and GT Plus. 

Colors Available: Curcuma Yellow, Wild Cherry Red, Candy White, Reflex Silver, and Carbon Steel Grey. 

However, in Nepal, the Taigun SUV is only available in 3 variants: Comfortline MT, Highline AT, and Topline AT.
