Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd is the authorized distributor for Hyundai vehicles in Nepal. The firm is currently selling two popular EV models in the Nepali market—Hyundai Ioniq and Kona EV.  

Shortly after entering the Nepali EV market, these two models by Hyundai became a popular choice for Nepali EV enthusiasts while these EVs are also receiving positive reviews all over Nepal.

And with the recent tax reduction in electric cars by Nepal Government, the prices of these models have further decreased, and the attention of EV lovers has reached a new high.  

Talking of electric vehicles, EV charging stations is one of the most crucial facets most of us look after. And in the context of Nepal, EV charging stations seem to be lower in number in Nepal.

However, Laxmi Intercontinental is investing heavily in setting up charging stations in Nepal, which emits some positive future of EVs. The company has so far set up 21 charging stations around different parts of Nepal. In these charging stations, Hyundai vehicles are allowed to charge for free, while brand EVs are charged, based on the location. BYD Charging Stations in Nepal

BYD, the first company to sell large electric vehicles in Nepal, has also expanded its charging network in 9 different places including the Kathmandu Valley. All the chargers installed by the company have a capacity of 40 kW.

 

At present, BYD operates charging stations outside the valley at Bauwa Hotel Bardiwas, BYD Showroom of Chitwan, Belbaari Itahari, Bidhyut Pradhikaran Office Pokhara, BYD Showroom Dang, Namaste Village Resort Nepalganj, Petrol Pump of Dumre and at Kusma Bazaar.

Inside the valley, the charging stations are located at BYD Park, Naxak, NEA Office Ratnapark, Singha Durbar, TBI Building Gairidhara, Trade Tower Thapathali, President House Baluwatar, Sajha Yatayat Pulchowk, and Emerald House Tinkune. 

 

MG Charging Stations in Nepal

MG has now installed 7 kW AC chargers in 13 different locations and will soon be installing 30 kW first chargers in Dhalkebagar and Kurintar.

MG has placed chargers in three places in Pokhara and Chitwan. A 7-kilowatt charger has been installed in Pokhara's showroom, Hotel Landmark, and Temple Tree Resort and Spa.

Similarly, MG has also set up charging points at three places in Chitwan. The charging station has been provided at MG Showroom, Landmark Forest Park Hotel, and Royal Century Hotel in Chitwan.

MG has provided charging facilities in Butwal's showroom, Birgunj's Makalu Hotel, Bardiwas's Gunj Hotel, Dhalkebagar's Komal Hotel, Biratnagar's showroom, Birtamod's showroom, and Mulkot's Akshit Resort and Rafting.

The two fast chargers to be connected by Paramount Motors will be available at Komal Hotel in Dhalkebagar and Riverside Resort in Kurintar, as per the company. 

 

Tata Motors Charging Stations in Nepal

Tata, which brought the electric car to Nepal very late, had initially started charging a 30 kW capacity charger. The company has announced to install such chargers in 15 different places of the country. Charging stations have already come into operation in Itahari, Kathmandu, Mulkot, Dhalkebagar, Chumlingtar, Pokhara, Hetauda, and Bhairahawa.

Tata also said it would build charging stations in Lamahi, Kohalpur, Attaria, and Lahan within the next six months. The company is also working to install 100 7 kW capacity chargers in various hotels, malls, restaurants, showrooms, and service centers as per the requirement.
