Engine Oil
The time for changing the engine oil varies according to the motorcycle. Motorcycle engine oil and oil filters can be checked at home easily. Use the toolkit on the motorcycle to open the engine and check the condition of the engine oil.
If you have to change the engine oil according to the situation, it is better to change the oil filter as well. There is a filter along with the place where the engine oil is inserted. This can easily be changed. Therefore, check the condition of the filter thoroughly before embarking on a long journey.
Air Filter
Air filters are the most commonly checked parts on motorcycles. Air filters tend to be positioned in different places according to the motorcycle. It is usually placed under the seat of a motorcycle. In some bikes, it is placed just below the seat and above the foot-pegs.
In some cases, cleaning the air filter of a motorcycle with a petrol can do the work. However, while preparing for a long trip, it is advisable to change the air filter.

Spark Plug
Spark plugs are also parts that can be tested and replaced in the usual way. The spark plug fires into the combustion process when starting the engine. The spark plug is located on the inside of the engine. This can also be extracted with the help of a toolkit. If the tip of the spark plus is too black, this needs to be replaced.

Drive Chain
Before embarking on a long journey, clean your chain and lube it properly. This can easily be carried out by standing the motorcycle on a double stand and cleaning it using petrol. Always using good quality chain lube for good durability.
Engine Speed
Prolonged non-adjustment can increase the engine’s speed. We can see this in the RPM indicator on the instrument console. For checking this, start your motorcycle on neutral and if the RPM meter goes above 5th line while does this, the bike’s speed might have increased. In this case, the speed can be reduced with the help of the speed adjuster on the side of the carburetor.

Apart from this, when preparing for a long journey, you should check the parts like clutch, air pressure, cooling oil, disc pad, and other minor factors.
