Recently, Pune-based automaker Force Motors debuted Urbania, its next-generation shared mobility platform. Select dealers from India and beyond were invited for a plant inspection and test drives as part of the Dealers Meet in Indore, where the new Force Urbania was unveiled.

Three variations of the new Van are offered: short, medium, and long wheelbases. Therefore, we will talk about its specifications, features, and price in this article today.

Overview

While the medium-wheelbase vehicle can carry 13 persons plus the driver, the short-wheelbase model can only fit 10 adults plus the driver. The Long wheelbase type has 17 adult seats, excluding the driver.

Force Motors displayed the T1N shared mobility van at the Auto Expo 2020 for those who weren't aware. It was put off because of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the brand-new cutting-edge manufacturing facilities built for this platform, serial production of the new Urbania has already started.

The development of the modular monocoque van and the construction of a brand-new, cutting-edge production facility cost the corporation more than Rs 1000 crores.

Urbania was developed with the intention of being used everywhere, and its "design is protected for usage in specific regions in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and South America" In these markets, Urbania will face competition from high-end goods from Europe, the Far East, and the USA.

In order to enhance, fine-tune, and validate this platform that was made in India to meet high-performance standards internationally, the Force Motors team that developed URBANIA extensively consulted with top technology experts and subject matter experts in Italy, Spain, the UK, Germany, Japan, and the USA.

As for other Force Motor news, it was recently made public that the Pune-based automaker is completing the finishing touches on a new five-door variation of its capable off-roader Gurkha.

The Force Gurkha is currently only offered in a single three-door type that has four seats as standard. Recently, a five-door variant that will be longer than the three-door model was identified and is currently in production.

Design and features

The Urbania is said to have a total of 25 first-in-segment features that improve the vehicle's comfort, safety, and style, according to Force Motors. The van's muscular appearance, which the automaker claims was inspired by bulls, has been provided. Urbania's exterior is equipped with LED headlights, taillights, and daytime running lights.

With its cutting-edge, global styling and body design, the Urbania is in a league of its own and competitive with the best offers from around the world. No matter how you look at it, it draws attention because of features like the segment's first projector lamps, segment-first signature day running LEDs, and segment-first tail lamps with light guiding technology.

The Force Urbania van platform was developed with a 2-box architecture that keeps the engine entirely outdoors to reduce NVH in the passenger area. To improve ride quality, Urbania is the first vehicle in this sector, according to its manufacturer, to feature independent front suspension with transverse springs.

Even though current Indian law does not require airbags for the driver and co-driver, the Force Urbania is the first car in its class to offer crash and rollover compliance. Additionally, the Van has sizable ventilated disc brakes with ESP, ABS, EBD, and ETDC on all four wheels.

The Force Urbania van comes equipped with features like tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, a dashboard-mounted gear lever, a 7-inch LCD touchscreen with built-in Bluetooth and camera inputs, USB mirroring for Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, a 6- or 8-speaker audio system, central locking, power windows, rear park assistance, engine start-stop system, reclining seats, sealed panoramic windows, individual reading lamps & USB ports, daytime running LED lamps, LED tail-lamps, etc.

In addition to providing rollover protection, the van has a front bumper that is intended to minimize pedestrian injuries in the event of an accident. Additionally, Force Urbania has a camera and ultrasonic sensor-based reverse parking assistance system.

Regarding the interior, Force Urbania van provides the best cabin space in its class with low noise, vibration, and harshness levels. Individual reading lamps, USB ports, and AC vents have all been added to the van. The seats have enough stand-up height and width, are comfortable, and allow for reclining.
