Introduction
In the recent safety rating test conducted by ASEAN NCAP, Hyundai’s premium SUV Creta Facelift received a solid safety rating of 5 stars.
The spec of Creta tested is made in Indonesia and sold in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Thailand, and The Philippines.

ASEAN NCAP is a New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries. In this safety test, the standard variant of the Hyundai Creta manufactured in Indonesia was tested.
The SUV has been able to score 27.78 points out of possible 32 for adult occupant protection, 39.67 points out of 51 for child occupant protection, 14.79 points out of 21 for safety assistance, and 9.14 points out of 16 for motorcyclist safety category. These points translate into five stars rating for each category and complete the crash test with the car receiving an overall 5-star rating.

The Hyundai Creta Facelift offers good protection for the hand, neck, leg, and chest of adult occupants in the front. Taking a side impact into account, the driver’s head, torso, and neck receive good protection, however, protection on the chest was only marginal.
For safety, the base-spec ‘Active' variant that was tested ASEAN NCAP gets dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assistant System (BAS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-start Assist Control (HAS), and Vehicle Stability Management (VSM). Besides, the higher variant of the SUV also comes with an Advanced driver-assist electronic system (ADAS) such as Lane-keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Forward Collision Warning.

The upcoming facelift Hyundai Creta could be launched in September of next year in India. The SUV will be coming with petrol or diesel engine options with a six-speed manual and CVT gearbox.
In India, it will compete against the likes of MG Astor, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, and Maruti Suzuki S-cross.
