Kia is preparing to launch its first electric car soon. Currently, the company sells only petrol-diesel vehicles such as the Sonet, Seltos, Carnival, and Carens in India. However, Kia has already launched six electric vehicles in the global market.
According to reports, Kia's first electric car has been tested in India. The company is expected to announce its launch in India soon.
A spy image of the Kia EV6 GT variant was seen on the streets of Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. According to reports, Kia EV6 could be launched in India this year. After launch, the car will compete with other electric models like Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Ioniq 5.
Kia's new electric car based on the global modular platform is currently only available in European markets. This top-spec GT variant is available in a dual electric all-wheel-drive system. The car uses a 77.4 kWh battery, which can generate a maximum power of 320 bhp and a torque of 605 Nm.
According to the global certification, the Kia EV6 claims to offer a range of 425 kilometers on a single charge. Kia also claims that the car can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes with the help of an ultra-fast charging system.
Kia EV6 adopts its design from the Supercar Fast GT variant. It has a sporty hood and dual rear spoiler to make it look sporty.
The EV uses a 12-inch infotainment system display and a digital cluster. Kia EV6’s cluster is inspired by Audi.
Kia has made safety a high priority in the car. It features Forward Collision and Blind Spot Assistant and Advanced Driver Assistance systems as standard features.
Moreover, it also has a grade 2 semi-autonomous system for highway driving. This allows the car to run on an advanced type cruise control system.
Kia EV6 is available in 3 variants EV6, EV6 GT-Line, and EV6 GT in the global market. The car has many drive configurations available, including two battery variants for a range of more than 510 kilometers. The top variant GT is offered with a more powerful battery pack.
The EV6 is available as a two-wheel drive and optionally as an all-wheel drive. The Kia EV6 is priced at 45,000 euros in European countries. If available in Nepal, it can cost around 1 crore.
