With the recent release of the all-new 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 in the Indian market, the bike has successfully been able to fulfill the expectations of most of the bike enthusiasts. The new Bajaj Dominar 400 having received several updates in its features, is around IRs. 10,795 pricier than its previous model. The price of this new sports tourer in India is Rs 1.73 lakhs.

Furthermore, with every release of new bike models in the market comes to its closest competitors along with it. So, has the new 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400. Meanwhile, relying on the bikes that are now currently available in the market, the new Dominar 400 can be competed or compared with two other popular bike models i.e. the KTM 390 Duke and the Royal Enfield Himalayan as all of these bikes somewhat shares the similar power plant, displacement, cycle parts and most importantly the pricing itself.

Here, we have set a quick comparison test among all of these three bikes depending upon different features that they share.

Design and Features

Talking of the design, all of these three bikes are quite unique in design from their own perspective. Firstly, speaking of the new Bajaj Dominar 400, as it is a touring motorcycle, the vehicle is designed to offer sporty looks while giving a relaxed posture to the rider too. More on, the bike features stylish headlamp, carved fuel tank and dual-barrel exhaust which adds more of an aggressive look to the bike.

Secondly, the KTM Duke 390 is also designed giving quite an aggressive touch while is somewhat more like the 1290 SuperDuke R. The sleek headlights, strung tank extension, exposed nude frame and dainty tail of the bike as a sporty finish to the bike. Lastly, comes the Royal Enfield Himalayan which is more of an Adventure Tourer while the tall instance design of the bike itself gives its justification. The bike features tall windscreen, dual-purpose tyres, and minimalistic body design.

Additionally, discussing the other features of the bikes, the new Dominar 400 comes with an LED headlight, digital dual-channel ABS and a slipper clutch. The bike doesn’t get the feature to switch ABS that is why it also misses the ride-by-wire throttle. Coming next to the KTM Duke 390, the bike comes with 3 modes for ABS with ride-by-throttle feature and a TFT LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth Connectivity. Lastly, coming on the Royal Enfield Himalayan, the company has kept electronic details on the bike simple as the bike only offers ABS when it comes to electronics.

Engine

Here comes the most chief part of the motorcycle, which is the Engine itself. Talking of the new 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400, thanks to Bajaj for including DOHC (dual overhead camshaft) engine setup in this new 2019 Dominar 400, unlike the previous model which featured the SOHC engine. New Bajaj Dominar 400 has a power output of 40PS and 35 Nm which is quite great. On the next comes the KTM Duke 390 which features the most powerful engine of the all three, the KTM Duke 390 is thrust by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine of 373.2 cc which produces 43BHP and 37Nm torque while it has a six-speed gearbox. Glancing at the engine features of the Royal Enfield Himalaya, the bike comes with a 411 cc air-cooled engine which produces 24.5bhp power and 32Nm which is the least of the all three.

Cycle Parts

In this part of the game, the new 2019 Bajaj Dominar and the KTM Duke 390 both shares the common mechanical traits. Both of these bikes accelerate on 17-inch wheels while both have an upside-down front fork and a rear mono-shock. While in the braking, both of these bikes get a 230mm disc at the rear and a 320mm disc on the front. However, both of these two differ when it comes to framing as the new 2019 Dominar 400 is constructed by a perimeter frame while the KTM Duke 390 has a steel trellis frame.

Royal Enfield Himalayan, being more of an adventurer tourer bike, receives a split cradle frame which is quite larger in size. The bike gets a 21-inch large spoke wheel on the front and a 17-inch wheel on the rear side. Talking of the braking, the bike receives a 300mm front disc along with 240mm rear disc to take care of the braking.

Price

Finally, comes the most important part of the detail which is the pricing of the bike. Which do you think is the most costlier of all these three beasts? Well, check if you are right. KTM Duke comes to the most pricier side when it comes to the costing.
