NADA Auto Show won’t be held on August this year

Share:

As usual, the NADA Auto Show, which is held in August every year, is likely to be not held this year.

Businessmen and sponsors estimate that the possibility for the NADA Auto Show to be held this year in August is very low due to the ongoing lockdown running in the country due to the threats of coronavirus.

Even though the show is going to be held in August, the organizers have to be prepared in advance 3 months earlier. This implies that the probability of the show being held on the regular date is very low.

This issue was discussed in the online meeting of NADA held on Friday. NADA’s Secretary-General, Sunil Rijal had spoken on this matter regarding the less possibility of NADA Auto Show to be organized this year.

Similarly, the firm has also decided to meet the Finance Minister to discuss the matter of the recent tax hike on electric vehicles. At a time like this when the government is speaking and taking initiative for the encouragement of EVs’ use for a healthy and clean environment, raising the tax up to 80% on Electric vehicles doesn’t make any sense. In fact, this also lowers the motive of EV sellers and might gradually shut down the business.

Let’s hope the government keeps a keen eye in this matter and encourage consumer towards buying EVs once again.
