So far, 30% of customs duty has been levied on means of transportation such as electrical goods carriers. NADA has demanded that the rate of 10 percent customs duty on other electric vehicles and means of transportation should be maintained. Similarly, the customs duty rate of 1% should be maintained on the import of charging machines and batteries used in electric vehicles. NADA also demands that only 1% of customs duty should be levied on the import of buses with a capacity of more than 40 seats.

NADA has demanded that a national policy should be formulated regarding electrical charging stations in Nepal. There is a demand for a uniform policy on the import of any electric vehicle in the country.
