Royal Enfield upcoming bikes might be called Sherpa and Hunter

Royal Enfield has recently filed trademarks for two new names for their upcoming models and the names are Sherpa and Hunter. Besides, the next-gen Classic 350 and the Thunderbird 350 X, the firm has also been working on the manufacture of a new range of lightweight and affordable motorcycles under their new trademark.

More on, coming on to the bike’s new trademark, Sherpa, in fact, it’s not a new name in the Royal Enfield family. If you are a true fan of Royal Enfield motorcycles, you would have known that RE has already used this name in its past model and to be exact, the firm used to manufacture 175cc motorcycle around the mid-’60s which it named Sherpa. And glancing at the rumors and leaks surfaced online, we could possibly be sure that the firm’s new affordable models might be given this name.

However, Royal Enfield itself hasn’t given any hint on this matter so we could not be sure about their upcoming plans. A recent report has suggested that the firm is planning on expanding its product line-up by introducing new entry-level models with new nameplates and Hunter and Sherpa might possibly be the one.

Similarly, the report also highlights that the RE Sherpa might get a 175cc engine while the RE Hunter might adopt the 411cc LS410 single-cylinder engine used in Himalayan. Undoubtedly, the new age upcoming RE bikes will be BS6 engine compliant while it is expected to reach the dealerships around the first quarter of 2020.
