Sajha Yatayat, a public transportation company was born in 1961 with a mission of providing efficient and affordable public transportation service to the commuters in Kathmandu Valley. Sajha Buses are one of the most famous transportation options among public transport commuters. Sajha Yatayat runs more than 40 buses now among which a few are disabled-friendly.
Mission
Sajha Yatayat has provided its services since 1961. In the last decade, the organization suffered some institutional turbulence, but now it has been sorted, with the participation of government. Sajha has goals of building the safe, transparent and effective ecosystem of public transport system throughout the country.
Sajha Yatayat mission statement is: "To be the leading transport agency providing an affordable, efficient and safe mode of urban and inter-district public transportation services in Nepal, as well as flag-carrier cross-border service to regional cities."

Sajha has also initiated night bus service within the Kathmandu valley with aim of targeting people visiting hospitals like Patan, Bir Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Gangalal Heart Centre and the Neuro Hospital. Night service starts at 8:30 pm and ends 11 pm. With CCTV attached on buses, observation is done throughout the time.
