Introduction
Along with the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered phone, Vivo has also launched the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro smartphones. Both these smartphones feature MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9200 processor. Moreover, they are the successor of the Vivo X80 and X80 Pro that were launched early this year.
In this post, we’ll dive deep into the specifications and features of the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro. We’ll also discuss the pricing and availability of these flagship Vivo phones. So, without any further ado, let’s get started.
Vivo X90 and X90 Pro Specifications
Design and Display
Both Vivo X90 and X90 Pro feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with Q9 luminescent material and FHD+ resolution. This HDR10+ display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 1300nits brightness. In addition, the screen has 2160Hz PWM high-frequency dimming to reduce visual fatigue when looking at mobile phones at night.
Vivo X90 comes in China Red, Ice Blue, and Black color options with a leather-like textured finish on the China Red and glass back on the remaining two. On the other hand, both the Red and Black color options of the Vivo X90 Pro feature a leather back.
Performance
For performance, both Vivo X90 and X90 Pro use Mediatek’s latest Dimensity 9200 flagship processor. It is an octa-core 5G chip that uses 2nd gen TSMC 4nm process and has up to 3.05GHz CPU frequency. Moreover, it features the new Cortex-X3 prime core and Arm Immortalis-G715 GPU.
The battery size of the Vivo X90 is 4810mAh, while the X90 Pro has a slightly bigger 4870mAh battery. Both these Vivo phones support 120W fast wired charging, but the X90 Pro will give you an extra 50W wireless charging support.
Optics
The biggest difference between the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro comes in the camera section. On the X90 Pro, you get the same 1-inch type 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor with f/1.75 aperture, OIS, and Zeiss T* Coating as the Vivo X90 Pro+. On the other hand, the Vivo X90 has a slightly less impressive 50MP Sony IMX866 sensor as its primary camera.
Furthermore, the X90 Pro gets a 50MP Sony IMX758 portrait camera and a 12MP Sony IMX663 ultra-wide sensor to go along with the primary sensor. In contrast, the vanilla X90 offers a 12MP ultrawide and a 12MP telephoto sensor.
Although the Vivo X90 and X90 Pro differ in optics, you still get Vivo’s self-developed V2 chip to overlook image processing on both these phones. The three major functions of the ISP are—real-time AI noise reduction, HDR tone fusion, and MEMC frame insertion. Besides, the chip has 45MB of on-chip SRAM and is more efficient, generating 16 TOPS per watt.
