Xiaomi has launched the Civi 1S smartphone in China. It is not a successor of the Xiaomi Civi but an upgraded version of the smartphone. Talking about the upgrades, the chipset is now the Snapdragon 778G+ (upgrade from Snapdragon 778G), and the device comes with the latest Android 12 out of the box. Apart from these two changes, the smartphone is completely identical to the OG Xiaomi Civi.

Xiaomi Civi 1S Overview

Design and Display

Xiaomi Civi 1S features a 6.55-inch OLED display with 3D curved glass. This FHD+ display has a true 10-bit color. It supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, a 120Hz fast refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and can reach a peak brightness of 950nits.

Xiaomi has slimmed down the phone to just 6.98mm. It is lightweight, weighing 166 grams. The Civi 1S comes in four different colors- Black, White, Blue, and Pink.

Performance

The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor clocked at 2.5GHz. It gives an option for up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage.

On the software side, the device runs on the Android 12-based MIUI 13. It is fueled by a 4500mAh battery and supports 55W fast charging.

For optics, Xiaomi Civi 1S has a triple camera setup at the back. It consists of a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide with 120-degree FOV, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Upfront is a 32-megapixel autofocus lens for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity options on the device include 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Furthermore, the phone packs Dolby Atmos-powered stereo speakers with Hi-Res audio certification.

Xiaomi Civi 1S starts at CNY 2,299 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model.Consumers in China can buy this Xiaomi mobile starting April 21. Like its sibling, the Xiaomi Civi 1S is unlikely to arrive on the global market.
